So regarding Johnny Cash's last works, it seems to me that most attention is given to his various covers, and probably for good reason. Off the top of my head, Hurt, Personal Jesus and Solitary Man are all excellent.

That being said, my favorite work of his from this era has got to be God's Gonna Cut You Down. I mean, the first time I heard it,

Oh jeez, Cash singing "You Are My Sunshine" is the most wonderfully depressing thing ever.
