I think it's stress related

So at work? I'm tired. I'm worn out. Sometimes, it is hard to keep my eyes open.

I get home. Can't sleep 'till almost midnight even though I got up at 4am and I have to do the same the next day.

Body, Mind. You two need to get your shit together on this one. This is killing me.

That's a more exciting commute than usual, I assume?

Or do you normally get harassed by stoned Micronesians who speak only Klingon and Elvish?

Exercise could help you. If you exhaust your physical body enough, it will HAVE to go to sleep and stay that way. You do have that huge set of stairs behind your place. Maybe you should try tromping up and down it a few times after you get home from work?

A friend of mine was mentioning to me the other day that staring at a computer screen will not make us feel tired. Once she said it, it seemed so obvious. A bright light in my face will mess with my body's perception of when it's supposed to sleep. So now I just have to make myself get in bed and turn out the light. If that doesn't work, the next steps are melatonin and valerian root. And liking the day job more, I suppose.

(For the record, I'm up with a baby right now. Haven't been at the computer--just using my phone now. I *will* conquer this shell o' mine and go back to sleep!)
