The Tale of the Tube

The MRI says I have, and I quote, "two massive disc herniations at C6 and C7."

So, guess who gets to consult with a neurosurgeon next Monday to plan his neck surgery? If you guessed KneadToKnow, you guessed right.

I'm still going for a cortisone injection tomorrow morning. I am hopeful that brings some relief, at least. Updates as events warrant.

Thanks, dearest. I had the cortisone injections yesterday and am already getting some noticeable relief. Nerve test for damage tomorrow, then consult for surgery on Monday. Two people on the Dope have already told me "oh, no, surgery should be your last option," but honestly, I feel like with the potential for permanent nerve damage to my gorram right arm and hand, why on earth should I risk it? So I can learn to write all over again? No thanks.

Yes, surgery should be your last option, but that doesn't mean it's not even on the table! If that's what's going to make it all better, why not? Modern medicine is an asset and should be used. I mean, that's what I pay for insurance for.
