So, things are going pretty well. I am still a brandwhore, as I went to Promenade with Aaren today and bought a Parasuco skirt -- on sale! I also got my dad's Father's Day gift (two movies from HMV) and his card. When I'm done or near done work tomorrow, I'll get him a Lotto 649 ticket like he wanted ( Read more... )

If you haven't read the Bridget Jones books, borrow them. Also there's a series by some woman with the last name Rennesson (I completely spelled that wrong) about a girl named Georgia Nicolson. Omg I'm butchering names tonight. Anyway, the series is relatively juvenile, but I found it quite cute. Both of those series are somewhat along the lines of shopaholic. They reminded me of the style of writing anyway. I read the first shopaholic book & thought it was hilarious. I really need to borrow the others. Thanks for reminding me, lol

I have Bridget Jones's Diary, but was never interested in the second book; and I have nearly every single Georgia Nicholson -- Louise Rennison novels too. Aaren is my very own "Robbie the Sex God."

I wasn't too interested in learning about Mimiso after Dave the Gob and all those other boys. :)

But thanks for the recs, anyway!

Yay glossy paper! =D

Did you get the icon I posted to the comment that you left on my journal?

Icon love! <3 My friends and I did a contest entry based off of that commercial, but we filmed it with a poor kid getting bullied and then getting revenge on his tormentors. I played a kid sleeping in the background. =D

I haven't read it, but I'm rather curious about the book "The Jane Austen Book Club". The only thing holding me back is that I want to finish reading Austen's works first. But it looks good! (or if you have already read this one, was it any good?)

Other than that, "The Dress Lodger" by Sheri Holman is one I have read and it's kick ass! It's wonderful historical fiction (Victorian era) stuff.

I'd want to do the same as you -- wait until I finish all the JA books... only, I find some to be terribly hard to get into. P&P was fun and easy, but Mansfield Park is really droll to start out with. Boring!

I'll look on Tuesday for that one; thanks Erica!

Was just skipping on through from your FFN account, after reading WA, when I happened to notice this post. And you mention the FY OVAs. I loved the FY OVAs, especially that scene between Tasuki and Miaka. Mostly because Tasuki is just about the hottest Seishi. (Chichiri is a close second) I just about turned into a puddle of fangirly goo. Only thing, it gets a little bit sad there for a bit. Just a little warning. I actually dislike Miaka a bit on account of Tasuki always getting hurt because of her, but she's still better then Yui. And I agree about Tamahome/Taka as well. He's so freaking sappy!

Anyway, hope you don't mind if I friend you. =)

Hi!

It's great to find another person who likes FY and Harry Potter! :) I always found that Tamahome was far to easily swayed by his greed for money (but it was understandable considering his family's size) but also his 'need' to protect Miaka. He allowed himself to go to Kuto, become Yui's slave, fought with Miaka after Taiskuun said they could never be together an broke her heart a good ten times during the series....

And yet... Tasuki was there from the second he stole her! Plus, you're right, he's just damn sexy. I would love a man like that in my life. Have you read KittyLynn's "The Promise" and "Leather and Lace" stories on FFnet? They're all Tasuki/Miaka and absolutely brilliant.

Not a problem at all -- I'm friend'ing you back; but just so you know, my LJ is more a diary of my personal life than my fictional/fanfiction work :)

I know! For a guy that's always stating that he hates women, he's actually one of the most non-romantically supportive seishi. I would probably weep in gratitude if a guy like him was in my life. ::sighs:: Too damn bad he's animated.

That's fine. =) I do a quite a bit of rl rambling in my journal (when I post that is). =)

I agree... I mean, I'm happy with and love my boyfriend, but... then again, if there was Taskui... ;)
