Zod never would have thought it would be possible for him to love again. When he failed to save his family, he thought his heart had lost the capacity to care for someone so deeply.
Apparently, he was wrong, and as he sits across from Cordelia, his hand in hers, he can't help but wonder how things would have turned out had he never met her. If maybe he would have become the Zod that everyone seems to detest and be so afraid of. He quickly pushes the thought from his mind, however, and gives Cordelia a small smile from across their table.
This morning they decided to go to a small cafe and put its frappuccinos to the test. And of course it was late morning by the time they got there. Getting out of bed was almost as challenging as it had been the day before.
"Is there something you'd like to do today?" he asks softly, absentmindedly stroking her hand with his. "I'd be happy to take you anywhere you want to go."
