The flight from Smallville to L.A. isn't exactly a comfortable one, despite the fact that Zod is flying via private jet, courtesy of his business partner. And he spends the majority of the flight in deep thought, his numerous concerns still weighing heavily on his mind.
It's been an extremely stressful last few weeks, to say the least, and he needs this escape more than he'd probably like to admit. More than that, he needs to see Cordelia, alive and well. He's been just as worried about her as he has about his own people, and, given their distance apart, he hasn't really been able to do anything to ease his concerns.
When his plane lands at the airport, he steps off hurriedly, making his way inside in kind. He's weary, worn out, and by this time just tired of thinking. All he wants now is to see her and let her presence calm his thoughts, as it has many times before.
