After a month of being AWOL, sorry - got busy writing/living life, my bad - I'm gonna talk about something here that I've never talked about. Prepare for a long entry. It's a bit in line with my epic love for Britney Spears, also known as She Who Is My Life Hero, and I want to warn everyone here that yeah, I've got a lot of diverse tastes. A while ( Read more... )

Dude, sometimes I just think.... Todd, get out of my head. I ADORE Gossip Girl. I loved in from the very first episode. It's my total guilty pleasure. Blair is my favorite. Each episode is so deliciously scandalous that I can never get enough. I unfortunately don't have cable anymore so I can't catch up until it comes out on dvd - but I have read a few episode reviews and I'm dying to get my hands on season 4. Chuck/Blair is right up there with Dean/Jo for me. And then you said Joey/Pacey and I was like - seriously?!?!!? Dude ME TOO!

I'm looking forward to your post - can't wait to read your comparisons.

If I'd known you haven't yet seen season 4... gah. Basically, if you're anything like me you will switch your ship from Chair to Dair, and I don't know if you want to know why or not but if you do, Television Without Pity does lengthly, pithy, and ultimately adoring recaps of every episode and it's all good things. Except I don't like spoiling people too much because then I feel awful. Which is why I'm sort of warning you now that I'm largely in love with season 4, it's the best season of GG in my opinion, so I'll be getting pretty spoilerific in my discussions. I dunno, I just feel like if I don't express why I love this show in detail it's going to eat away at my brain like an essay that wants to be written in the worst way, so I just have to exorcise all thoughts. Anyway, I'm so happy to know you love GG as much as I do. It's definitely one of those shows were, if you don't watch it, you have this scorn from the outside, but if you do watch it you can expound on all the awesome ad nauseum ( ... )

Oh noz, I don't want it to eat away at your brain! The world needs your brain - ok, *I* need your brain. LOL Don't worry about spoiling me. I did manage to catch a few eps yesterday online Episodes 1-6. I'm so torn with my feelings about Jenny. You see I really am not keen on the actress Taylor Mosman, and as a result it's hard to separate the two since I think the writers let some of Taylor's personality bleed through to her character. I loved Jenny season 1 but around the middle I was just like - nup, i don't feel sorry for you, your a spoilt brat... (I STILL can't believe Taylor was nearly chosen to be Hannah Montannah -WTF? Man did Disney dodge a bullet!) However in this new season I kinda started to like Jenny again cos I felt bad for her during episode 6.

However, it looks like I will regret saying that after reading the episode summary for 9 and 10. Hmmm.

So I do have a fairly good idea of what season 4 is about, so it's okay if you spoil me. I want to know ( ... )

Okay, here's the thing about Dair: it's like crossing a pond via stepping stones. You can't try to jump from one side to the other with only one stone along the way. You have to start the journey at one end and take each step, because it's how you get across. Dair fans aren't converted by one episode or one scene. It's the multitude of scenes in natural progression ( ... )
