I'd noticed the Midlands trains are water-soluble problem this morning as well. I dunno if you are going to drive there, but you should check the AA first, both M42 and M40 have big problems at the mo.

Alas I will be working. And perving will only happen just before I buy one. Which will likely be the end of the this month or soon after.

To get up at 4:45 in order to not make a meeting is adding grave insult to serious injury.

Had I not decided to drive in I'd have been at the station just in time to say hello before you gave up.

But then I'd probably have been very late to work.

why you insist on using the rail system when an awful lot of effort on behalf of police and private security was gone to to create a very nice road near Newbury I don't know.

My response in a similar situation (although one mile into the journey at delay point, so unable to get off) was to upgrade myself to first class, and while away an amusing hour watching the guard getting more and more wound up by my very polite and reasoned utter refusal to move... to the point where she was jumping around the carriage pointing at me as the complimentary teas came round shouting "don't serve him, he hasn't got a first class ticket"...

I was eventually escorted off by two very nice coppers near Rugby and got onto the next train through.
