So you know how yesterday I was all "Oh, the FF.net thing is irritating, but I'll just back up my fics and say to hell with it"?
Yeah, that was yesterday afternoon.
Yesterday evening I got this ... review. I'm posting the first part of it here because I forgot to save it in its entirety. Which is fine, because really just the first paragraphs are

Luckily I am not one of those people who think I can finish another authors work for them. Hell I have stories on my favorites on FF that haven't had an update for YEARS!!! I wait patiently, with the occasional email to the author to check to see if they plan to update. I would never suggest finishing someone else's work. Although there are a few stories out there that after reading I could see a sequel take shape in my mind. But again I would never presume to do so. Nor have I ever even considered asking the author for permission to do so.
But for "thepublicwish" to put that in an review? At the very least a pm would have been more appropriate. Even then it was rude and ill-mannered.

The other two are very old Labyrinth fics of mine. But if you read "Immortal Love" and absolutely must know what happens next, feel free to PM me or email me and I'll send you a copy of what I had posted.
And yes... there are SO many good stories out there that are unfinished and might never be. I re-read them occasionally because I remember them fondly and I hope that they've updated... but no.
I would NEVER be so presumptuous as to presume that I should pick up that story where someone left off. Not unless they specifically asked me to and I had every single note or thought they'd ever had about that story right in front of me for reference and the original author to consult with. And even THEN I still might not, because nothing I could make up would be what they'd intended.
And yeah... a PM would have been nice. But then it wouldn't have been as anonymous. Or as much of a threat.

I have ten chapters that I haven't finished editing.
I can't even say how excited this makes me feel. I know it will take some time to finish the editing an get it to a place where you feel it's ready to put up, but it's like whenever there was any kind of gossip off of the set of The Avengers. Just acknowledging that there is this thing out there that I'm really excited about and it's being worked on is enough to make me all flavors of thrilled.
