I still regularly use LJ to establish things like 'when did I start working at RG?' and 'what year did I graduate again?'. Having stopped actually chronicling my life has made this rather less useful now though...

Indeed, I try to write a regular "This is what I've done in the past 6 months/year/however long since I last remembered to do this" post. In fact I'm in the middle of one recounting what I did other than my PhD in the last couple of years.
