As of right now my portable harddrive is dead if any one knows how to fix these things let me know western digtal well only replace and i can't find the warrinty paper work so i don't think even that matters. Right now i ma really depressed i am hoping that stuff can be fixed need to get scrawny long phillps screwdrive to get casign off drive

the clicking you hear is the arm with the magnetic readers getting jammed on something. A possible cause is that it was jarred or that the arm motor is dead. This comes from constantly working from the drive instead of saving to it occasionally, or in your case listening to the MP3 library on it.

You might want to try tapping the drive on each of its sides and trying it after tapping each side.

did not work but thank you i thin the problem is with the power cable since last time i plugged it in the harddrive falshed on and off so i am goign to try to find a replacement for that.

Just chiming in as we don't talk very much these days. I've indicated that I'd like to try to get over to hang out with you guys sometime relatively soon. As soon as I have a definitive time that matches yours, we'll do something.
