Diagonal Lace stitch?

I'm making a yoga mat bag for my sister, using the pattern from Stitch'n'bitch nation.  The bag itself is done in "Diagonal Lace stitch" which I wrote down assuming I could find a pattern for that pretty easily on the internet. This is not the case.

Does anyone know what Diagonal Lace stitch is?

I just bought tht book not too long ago. There's a few things that I want to do from there.
