Lester frowned as he read the report. Just how had his supposedly highly trained soldiers allowed Helen bloody Cutter to slip through their fingers? Worse than that, they'd apparently left her armed and even allowed Hart to give her the knife back. What part of prisoner didn't they understand... Oh fuck! Was it possible?
He had to know and summoned Captain Ryan to his office. His fingers weaving patterns as he waited... if Helen had bewitched his people, there would be traces left.
And next time they met, well, she'd discover she wasn't the only one who could perform magic.
