Lester hung up the phone rather forcibly. “That was the minister. This ash cloud has already closed Heathrow and now Gatwick. He's not happy.”
Connor shifted nervously. “Well, it is better than it could be, James.”
“How?” Lester queried, wondering just how things could be worse.
“I think this is the aftermath of the Chicxulub impact,” Connor said.
“The impact that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs?” Lester asked, looking alarmed.
“I think this is several weeks, maybe months after the impact. We should be fine.”
“Should be doesn't reassure me, Connor. Not when the bloody anomaly is still open.”
