Sir James Lester gave a bittersweet smile as he recalled that last summer of freedom between finals and starting his career. Those carefree days of summer when everything had seemed so perfect and the whole world lay before him. He remembered meeting Chrissie, going to gigs and even Glastonbury, long summer nights spent discussing the world and how they’d change it.
Not that things had gone as he’d planned. He’d fallen for Chrissie and she’d used him. But even knowing that, Lester knew he still loved her, that he always would love her.
The problem was Chrissie knew that too.
