Stephen stood in the deserted atrium of the ARC and wondered what he should do. Oh, he knew what he should do, what anyone sensible would do - head for the coast and take the next boat out of the country. He should leave but he couldn’t turn his back on his… they were still his friends, even after everything.
He could see the clear signs of a rapid evacuation and knew someone had escaped the attack. He couldn’t leave without knowing if they were still alive. He just couldn’t walk away and leave them, not again.
He had to find them.
