Yes, get screened. My mom is proof (waited until she was 68 and guess what? cancer, though she's doing well a year later). I have considered screening for myself even though I'm only 42, because I know someone who needed polyps removed at 38, and she had family history, too.
In their defense, MK is home full time, they've got three kids at home, and the kids can run most dogs into the ground. All that swim practice means they're in scary good shape. Seriously; Jennifer and Claire swim times that are waaay faster than military fitness standards. Plus my family had boxers in the 60s; we do love them lots. But yeah.
Then again, nobody has any idea of the new puppy's sire. So anything is possible and they'll just have to see!
Yes, but honestly, I can't think of ANYONE energetic enough for that cross! Or smart enough--border collie brain and drive + boxer "enthusiasm"? Hoo boy. I get tired just dealing with boxers. (I have the short-track sprinters of the dog world, an Aussie/sighthound cross and a Pembroke corgi--good for short distances at the run.)
Yes, the "Test for 50 Somethings" is so important. My ex-boss is undergoing her second round of chemo for cancer that started in her colon. She had never had the procedure before it had spread, and is now 65. A medical professional who hadn't had an exam of any sort in over 15 years. Just plain dumb.
I am proud to say I got mine right on time, and although it cannot be described as fun, is really not that bad. Yes, the drugs are terrific. Better living through chemistry.
The piece of mind one gets fromt this screening, not to mention the other female ones, is priceless!

Ack, I still haven't read Temeraire books.
