Are you looking for a yarn store, a knitting-related social life or political validation?

Maybe it's just me, but I tend to patronise yarn shops on the basis of the quality, selection and price of their yarn, and very little else. She didn't even go inside.

lol - I at least give the salespeople a chance to ignore me before writing off the store entirely!

You should come shop at my LYS. Whenever I go in there, everyone always asks me if I need help finding anything, and a couple of weeks ago, after I'd been asking why they didn't carry Shepherd Sock, they called me to tell me that they inexplicably got some in with their shipment of Helen's Lace. Or, rather, since I forgot to put my phone number on my credit card slip, they called bafleyanne and she passed on the message.

I will admit, I personally would be put off by *any* store that had a lot of political stuff posted that I didn't agree with, but depending on what it was, I may decide to shop there anyhow. Simply being politically conservative isn't enough to make me take my dollars elsewhere. Being an *idiot* is, though.

But I also wouldn't whine about it to knitting. GET A PHONE BOOK. (Although I have been guilty of asking about yarn shops, but generally when Gogle has failed me.)

Yarniverse is the notoriously rude one here! They totally ignore customers. I only go there when I'm desperate! MY favorite LYS is The Yarn Studio - the place where the owner knows my name!

There's only the one in my part of Delaware. There's one just over the state line in Pennsylvania, but I don't go there very often since half their stock seems to be novelty yarns. It's like a muppet abattoir in there.

Before the election, we had many a heated political discussion at my LYS...it was fun and we respected everyone's opinion! The owner is conservative, but she's certainly not a blind follower. I understand the desire to shop where your political heart is, but sometimes you can miss out on meeting neat people AND on expanding your vistas.

Pissy people say pissy things no matter what side they're on. I try to avoid them, not their politics.

Why do you even need to have the same politics as your knitting buds anyway? I disagree on some political points with my HUSBAND and we've made a legally binding promise to be together for the rest of our lives, not just Saturday afternoons.

hahaha! Yes, me & hubby differ sometimes too. However me & dad differ 99.8% of the time! It was big fun at election time. Mainly we just liked antagonizing each other =D

I totally agree! It frustrates me that people are so freaking scared to be challenged in our society...thinking is good for you!
