Um, how about capital letters?

OK, OK, I know it isn't really knitting related, but it's so hard to follow posts where you can tell things are only capitalised if the poster was copying them directly from yarn labels....

Capital letters are highly overrated. ;)

Are you talking about the "usual" culprit who runs words together and never ever capitalizes anything? I wouldn't even care about the caps if the sentences weren't run into each other and everything was spelled correctly.

And apostrophes. Chat room abbreviations, especially those indicating your amusement, however, are not helpful.

I'll take correct punctuation and spelling over capitalization any day. And yes, that girl drives me crazy too, she's like the knitting problem child.

Meh. i don't cap my "i's", obviously, but usually i take the time to cap the beginning of sentances... i have a "grammer purist" friend, and i know that if i don't behave myself at least a little, she'll get frustrated with my posts.

It's completely understandable that some typos are going to creep into the mix. i admit to having horrible spelling ("Bad Spellers of the World, Untie!"), but i try to fix it if i notice it after i've posted. i just wish that folks would take a little care, and haul out their third-grade writing skills and dust them off. "Leetspeek" drives me nuts.

Thank heavens that pretty much everyone on my friends list can write, or i'd go buggy.

Yep, I agree. I'm usually pretty lax with capitalization and need to look up a couple words per post to check spelling. I think my main problem is with the complete lack of effort/care on the part of some. It's really difficult to understand posts that are pretty much one giant typo.
