That whole first paragraph is why I (probably not adviseably) don't ever pack until the very absolute last minute. I'm always thinking "but what if I need this thing? And it's packed among all the other things?" and it generally happens, too. So yeah.
And where is all this moving to? Will you be in the DC/NoVA area again, or elsewhere? What brought it on, jobstuff?
Licensure? Is this with the car? I figured if it's all in VA there wouldn't be issues, but ... yeah.
Also, will you be in the No.VA area around Christmas time? I have found that I'll be able to go home by Dec. 20th (as long as the Int'l Office and the Department get their acts together about it), so I'll be available for if you'd like to get together or bake delicious things or just have a general Christmastime-style get-together!
I tried alternately to avoid packing, and pack up things that I almost certainly wouldn't miss so as not to hate the packing. These competing strategies may be part of why things aren't where I think they should be.
Moving was to No. VA first (lease ended July 31 in Blacksburg) brought on by Dan deciding he was done and ready to make real-world money instead of grad-school money (FYI engineering grad-school money is pretty impressive compared to liberal sciences) Final destination has just been decided to be New Mexico (I will be needing to brush up on my Spanish)
Licensure is for counseling - different rules in different states, and while VA is notoriously picky, at least I know what those hoops are.
Don't know about Christmastime. Obviously I'd like to be back home for Christmas (or close to it), but I think it's not likely this year because we've already got Thanksgiving plans and vacation time might be sparse the first year :-( Will keep you updated though.
