10-Year-Old Dies While Apparently Playing 'Passing Out Game'

BOISE, Idaho -- A 10-year-old boy was found dead, hanging from a tree, apparently killed while trying to get high by playing the "pass-out game," authorities said.

Dalton Eby may be the second Idaho child killed in recent months while playing a choking game, trying to cut off the oxygen supply to the brain to achieve a type of "high."

I used to do that, too. I'd take a belt and wrap it around my neck until I felt tingly and nearly passed out..the thing is I tightened it with my hands, so I probably would not have died even if I did pass out.

I have heard of this before. Mostly though with erotic asphyxiation. It scares the life out of me that people do it. I tried once and don't understand why people like the feeling. But then again I can't stand to feel out of control. I just have to say I hope those who still do it at least are safe about it so that when they do pass out they are not left swinging.
