Hey there Mudders!

What are the general outlines of a (cs) clinic project?  How large or small must it be and what is the cost to the company?

We picked up a couple of brochures at the most recent clinic days - I'll see what info they have when I get home.

I found some stuff online, the most important of which says it cost the company $40,000 which pretty much puts it out of the question for us. Do they do (major) discounts for non-profits? What about advertising? Does Harvey Mudd want some advertising? We'd be happy to trade some on the air time.

They've been known to pick up some pro-bono clinics for non-profits - usually one a year, but there was one year (back when Hodas ran clinic) when we had quite a few...

Very good to know. We not ready for it, but I'm trying to slowly plant the idea of switching to a computer based pledge taking system for our volunteers. It would mean we could integrate the phone-in pledges with the web pledges, have real-time sweepstakes, updates and breakdowns of the pledges, and offer all the limited gifts to web pledgers as well as those who phone in.

It could even make fulfillment after the drive more organized and easier as well.

KCRW switched about two years ago and I've been insanely jealous (as proud as I am of our pledge form, which I'm in charge of). Course we only raise about 25 percent of what KCRW does.

Still, we're on our way, and it will eventually get even cheaper to rent computers and such for drive. If we can get the set-up costs down I might be able get them to start to consider it in a year or so.

Course perhaps the smart thing would be to hire the guy that designed KCRW's system to do ours. He might actually charge us money though...
