Organized religion(well the majority of them) seem to have more emphasis on control and judgement than worship. I'm not a religious person and have no problem with anyone elses choice or beliefs, but once someone tries to impose them on you and somehow wants to cast judgemet on you or yourself than thats a problem.

I mean I personally don't automatically assume that someone with dreads is rasta and anyone that does is an idiot because like you said it is a cultural thing and not a religious thing.

but if you wanna get dreads and you think they would look good on you i think you should..even tho i know you probably will either way

man, i know nothin about rastafarianism. but i do know a lil bit about this thing they like to call "satanic".

the word "satan" is a word invented by the catholic church. it evolved from an Islamic term, "Shaitan". as an Islamic term, the word simply meant "enemy of God", which could be anyone, not only "the devil" that was cast out of Heaven. the catholic church chose this Islamic term cus they felt that the language of the Islamic peoples was dirty, or ugly, and so they figured this word would be perfect to use as a reference to the devil

Sup man. My religion is My relationship with God. If going to church every Sunday, appearance, political views, etc. determines that i'm a Chrisitian then i'm not. Being a Christian to me is having the beliefs that God sent his Son, Jesus, to earth as a man to die on the cross for our sins and that when he died and resurrected he sent the Holy Ghost to comfort us and that soon Jesus is coming back for mankind. Until then we ought to spread the Gospel bout him and the one living God. That's what being a Christian to me. Whether I do that wearing dreads or going to church every now and then or whatever, as long as i'm doing what i'm suppose to and having a relationship with God. People that strectch shit out and are more concentrated on limitations than the Gospel, then they fake and I don't listen to a damn word they say. So just do you. Wow..i never heard of dreads being related to the devil...I just thought it just a natural hairstyle. But religious extremists always make mountains out of molehills so I wouldn't even worry about it. I think you should get the dreads if you still want to.

I'm more spiritual than relgious, so to speak. I stopped digging organized religion a long time ago. I think alot of relgious people pick and choose out the bible what is a sin and what is not. No sin is greater than the other. That's like a serial killer telling me that stealing is wrong...
