~One Call Away~
Ring, Ring.
Jin groaned and rolled over in his hotel bed. And just when he had finally managed to get some sleep after KAT-TUN's concert!
'Maybe they'll give up,' he thought.
Ring, Ring.
He groaned once more.
'It could be someone important,' he thought, sluggishly picking up the phone.
"Moshi Moshi?"
"A-Akanishi-kun?"
Jin sat up in the bed with a jolt.
"Yabu-kun?"
"H-hai. I hope I didn't disturb you."
"No, I was just reading," Jin replied, getting out of the bed and going outside on the balcony of the suite. "What's up?"
"I just wanted to tell you g-good news," he began, and Jin noted that he was trying to keep his voice steady. "I'm debuting."
Jin smiled and did a mini tootsie roll.
"That's great Yabucchi!" he exclaimed, still dancing. "I'm so proud of you! And the rest of Ya-Ya-Yah too of course! You guys are finally debuting!"
"N-no Akanishi-kun. I-It's not all of Ya-Ya-Yah. It's just me and Hikaru. We were the only two chosen."
Jin froze.
"What happened?" he asked, quietly.
"Then Jimusho decided to make Hey! Say! 7 a larger group," Yabu said softly, and Jin now understood why he was struggling to stay composed. "Hikaru and I were added along with Inoo-chan, Ryutaro and Keito. Ya-Ya-Yah and J.J.Express have officially disbanded."
"Oh Kota," Jin whispered.
At that moment Yabu broke down crying into the phone. Jin's heart ached to hear it.
"Shoon's still a junior, and Taiyou resigned this afternoon!" Yabu said between sobs.
"Kota I'm so sorry," Jin said softly.
"Why did this have to happen?" Yabu asked. "Akanishi-kun it isn't fair! We worked so hard!"
"I know it isn't," Jin replied quietly. "But Kota I need you to stop crying and listen to me."
"O-okay," Yabu said, taking a deep breaths. "I'm listening."
"I can't possibly imagine what you're doing through, but I want you to stay strong, okay? If I remember correctly, you're the oldest and one of the seniors of the group," Jin began. "That means that the others are going to be looking to you for support, as they're also going through the same thing as you. I want you to keep singing for Taiyou and Shoon and stay positive. I know it sounds difficult to do right now but I know you can because you're strong. Okay?"
"O . . . Okay Akanishi-kun," Yabu said sniffling.
"Now I know it's only noon but I want you to try and get some sleep."
"Okay."
"If you need anything don't hesitate to call me."
"Okay."
"Bye bye."
Jin hung up and sighed, placing his arms against the balcony rail and resting his hea don his hands.
"Jin?"
Jin turned to see Kame.
"Hey," he said, quietly.
"What's bugging you?" Kame asked.
"Kota called," Jin said. "Ya-Ya-Yah and J.J.Express disbanded. He and Hikaru are being placed in a unit with half of JJ.Express and two other juniors."
"Oh," Kame said, sighing. "That's gotta be taking a toll on them all."
Jin nodded.
"He was crying, Kame," he said. "He was crying and I wasn't there for him! I feel so frustrated!"
"Jin . . ." Kame whispered as he saw Jin gripping the rail and biting his bottom lip. A single tear trickled from his eye.
"I wanted so badly to be there for him. I never want him to be that sad again. And I'll do my best to prevent it."
Kame smiled.
"I know you will," he said.
