We're banning you from seeing him.

Those words echo in Kibum's head as he lays face up on his bed, staring at the ceiling. He hasn't moved in hours, nor does he have any desire to. He has nowhere to go, not anymore.

We don't want you talking to him.

His parents took his cell phone and his laptop. His calls on the house phone were being monitored. There was no possible way he could get into contact with him under the current circumstances.

They had only been apart for five days but to Kibum it felt like months had gone by. He wasn't allowed to leave the house for anything except for school, and even there he had guards that kept him away from him at all costs. He was angry beyond belief, and frustrated that there was nothing he could do about it.

He's bad news Kibum. His whole family is nothing but trouble.

That was a lie. Minho had been nothing but kind to Kibum. He was always there for him and he listened to all of Kibum's troubles. He comforted him as best as he could, even if all he could do was hold him. Minho was the best thing Kibum could ask for, and Kibum trusted him with his life. But because of what he thought was a completely ridiculous feud between their families they weren't allowed to be together. He knew that neither of them had anything to do with the situation and that only angered him further.

They'll be other boys. We'll introduce you to better ones.

But Kibum doesn't want anyone else. No one else will ever be good enough for him. He'd rather spend the rest of his life alone than ever considering moving on. He wishes that he his parents could understand how he felt. He wishes that they could see Minho as single person and not as a member of the family that his family had hated for centuries. It was selfish for them to keep him and Minho apart. It was cruel of them to assume that Kibum's feelings could change so easily.

Forget about seeing him again. It's for the best.

Kibum throws himself off of the bed, grabs a book off of his nightstand and flings it at the wall. It hits the floor, pages crinkled and the cover bent. Kibum prepares to fling his water glass (and smile as it shatters into hundreds of pieces) when someone knocks on the door.

"Come in," he says quietly as he puts the glass back on the nightstand. The door opens and Kibum's friend Lee Jinki enters.

"Your parents are gone," he says. "They thought I might be able to keep you company."

"In other words, they sent you to watch over me," Kibum says bitterly. "How kind of them."

"I know this is hard for you," Jinki says gently. "So there's if anything I can do to help you, just name it."

"Get me a phone please," Kibum says.

"Anything but that," Jinki says and Kibum frowns.

"But you just said -"

"- your parents would kill me."

"Jinki please," Kibum begs. "I need to talk to him. This is driving me crazy!"

Jinki sighs.

"I'll talk to Jonghyun and see what I can do," he says. "I'm not guaranteeing that this will work, but I promise you I'll try."

"Thank you," Kibum says hugging him.

Jinki smiles and leaves the room. He pulls out his cell phone and calls Kim Jonghyun, a boy whose family is extremely close to the Choi family.

"Are you alright?" Jonghyun asks.

"I'm fine," Jinki replies amused. "You know, I could be calling just to talk to you."

"But you're not so spill it," Jonghyun says and Jinki laughs.

"It's Kibum. He wants to talk to Minho."

"Is he insane?"

"Not yet."

"I don't know if I can do that. Minho and I are under close watch."

"How's he doing?"

"He's not feeling well," Jonghyun replies. "He barely eats and he looks tired every day in school. He misses Kibum as much as Kibum misses him."

"So don't you want to make him feel better? Let him to talk to Kibum."

Jonghyun sighs.

"Give me a minute," he says. He hides the cell phone in his back pocket and Minho looks at him curiously. He simply smiles.

"Start clutching your stomach and pretending to puke," he says and Minho blinks. "Trust me," Jonghyun adds and Minho nods and obeys.

Jonghyun goes to open the bedroom door and the guard standing there turns to look at him.

"Minho just threw up. Can you go get a rag, some carpet cleaner, crackers, and a bottle of ginger ale?"

The guard nods and leaves. Jonghyun smiles and closes the door.

"You've got five minutes," he says as he resumes his conversation with Jinki. "Give the phone to Kibum."

"Gotcha," Jinki replies as he walks over to Kibum. "Five minutes."

"Minho?" Kibum says quickly as he takes the phone. "Minho?!"

"I'm here Kibum," Minho says with a laugh.

"Oh my God, do you know how good it is to hear you voice?"

"I think I can guess," Minho replies smiling. "How are you?"

"Miserable. This sucks, I'm practically in jail here."

"I know that feeling."

"They've taken all of my communication devices."

"Mine too. I can't even have my iPod."

"Why? That seems harmless."

"I have a playlist named after you."

Kibum smiles.

"I miss you," he says. "I can't stand this."

"It's difficult for me too," Minho says. "But it'll get better soon, I know it will."

"Minho he's coming," Jonghyun hisses from his position at the door.

"I have to go Kibum," Minho tells him.

"When will I hear from you again?" Kibum asks.

"As soon as possible I promise," Minho replies. "Goodbye. I love you."

"I love you too," Kibum says.

Minho hangs up and Kibum sighs. Jinki sits on the bed next to him.

"Did he say when he'd be able to talk again?" he asks.

"No. He just said he would call back as soon as possible. But that could be weeks from now."

"Or it could be tomorrow," Jinki points out. "Stay optimistic."

"You sound like Minho. He says things will get better soon."

"Do you believe him?"

Kibum smiles.

"Of course I do," he says truthfully.

Jinki laughs and hugs him. Kibum rests his head against Jinki's shoulder. Things had to get better, and until they did he would believe in Minho.
