Jonghyun/Taemin / PG / 611 words / Fluff
Summary: Jonghyun is giving, always giving, and Taemin feels that the only thing he can do is take.

Author's Note: It took me forever to be happy with this. XD I hope you guys enjoy it!

Jonghyun is always concerned for Taemin's well being. He has medicine prepared for every type of illness possible, a hot pad ready for whenever Taemin feels sore, and a meal recipe for whenever he's hungry and isn't eating right. Taemin only protests at Jonghyun's treatment when the pots and pans come in.

"Hyung you don't need to cook for me," he says as Jonghyun starts looking through the dorm's refrigerator for ingredients.

"You're only saying that because you think I can't cook."

"Hyung I know that you can't cook," Taemin says rolling his eyes and Jonghyun laughs. "But really, don't bother. I don't want to be a burden."

"You're not," Jonghyun says. "Now stop trying to talk me out of helping you and go sit in the living room until I'm done."

Taemin knows that it's futile to protest any further. Instead he gives Jonghyun a smile and thanks him for taking care of him so well.

If Jonghyun could afford it, Taemin is sure that the older man would give him the world. For their first month anniversary he received a new jacket, for their first year together he was given chain, and almost every five days Jonghyun buys him a small gift. Taemin's uncomfortable with the amount of showering, and he knows that arguing with him is pointless. But that doesn't stop him from trying every time.

"I don't need it," he says frowning as he takes the game out of Jonghyun's hands and puts it back on the shelf for the fifth time than day.

"But you want it," Jonghyun points out, taking it off of the shelf for the sixth time. "I'm getting it for you and that's final."

"You're so stubborn," Taemin says frowning as he follows Jonghyun to the register. "Honestly I don't need you to spend money on me. It's such a waste."

"It's not a waste," Jonghyun says as he pays for the game. "You're going to play it aren't you?"

Taemin lets out an exaggerated sigh as Jonghyun hands him the bag with the purchase inside.

"Of course," he says. He then smiles gratefully at Jonghyun. "Thank you."

Jonghyun is Taemin's emotional support. Taemin can share his problems with him and he always tries his hardest to help even if there isn't a solution. Jonghyun the one that Taemin can vent to, the one that Taemin trusts the most.

"It's frustrating," Taemin says as he finishes telling Jonghyun about the extra hours he spends practicing his singing. "I want to sound perfect but the problem is I don't know how to get to that point. I'm never satisfied with how I sound. I'm probably being too hard on myself."

"I don't think you are," Jonghyun says. "I think you should keep working on it. You have the potential to improve. And I'll help you if you want."

Taemin smiles sheepishly and thanks Jonghyun for being there.

Taemin is extremely concerned about their relationship. Jonghyun is giving, always giving, and Taemin feels that the only thing he can do is take. He tries to give back but it never seems to be enough. He's worried that he's being a nuisance, that he's taking advantage of Jonghyun, and that he could be doing more. He's afraid that he's not showing Jonghyun just how grateful he is for everything that he does.

When he says this to Jonghyun, the older male only laughs and shakes his head.

"Don't worry about it," he says. "I don't mind."

"But I do," Taemin insists. "I'll make it up to you, hyung, I promise."

Jonghyun shakes his head once more.

"Seeing you smile is payment enough," he says simply.
