Three Items Unsold

It's October, so I've been hearing a lot about Halloween. I already have an idea of what the holiday is about, and I've read up quite a bit on its history...but we don't really celebrate it where I'm from, so I'm not really sure what one does on that day.

So for anyone who does celebrate it...how do you do so? I'm just curious.

I got to celebrate it last year in the US. We just had a party at my friend's house, and everyone had to come in costume. Ah, and we watched some horror movies, too!

Costumes do seem to be a prevalent theme...[Really doesn't want to dress up in something ridiculous.]

Horror movies?

Mm-hmm! It was pretty fun. [He chuckles.] I actually went dressed as Sherlock Holmes.

Yeah! My friend Clyde is a big movie buff. What did we watch...? "Evil Dead" I think? It was pretty ridiculous. I wonder if anyone is planning on any parties here.

Ah, the detective. I've read about him, though I haven't managed to get my hands on any of his books.

And I've read about movies as well, but I've never watched any, since we don't have them in Gensokyo. I'll see if I can ask Miss Yakumo to get some for me...

Among some, it is considered a holiday for devil worshipers. For others, free candy is gained by dressing up as fictional characters and wandering door to door making threats.

Devil worshipers...well, considering the roots of the holiday, I can see why...

... I hate that holiday. I hope bratty children do not come to my door again this year.

Halloween does seem to be more of a children's holiday, doesn't it?

So you've been here for the previous Halloween?

I have... it was annoying.

Well, hopefully it won't be so annoying this year.

It does seem to involve a lot of candy...

Mischief Night?

That's the best part, getting bags and bags of free candy. [and the having it confiscated BUT WE DON'T SPEAK OF THIS]

Yeah, it's a night when all the kids get to go out and prank the adults.

I can imagine it would be, for some.

Really? I've never heard of it.
