Of course.
But it's only a letter, after all. Anyone can write a letter -- certainly, you can, as well, can't you? It's another thing entirely to have it tell us the truth.
[New week. New faces. Talia, ever present and ever mindful of their appearance, will do her best to break it ever so carefully to you Chucky.]
You shall not get terribly far, I am afraid .. Nor will you find the Lord of this Keep terribly responsive, but for when he chooses to be. Though it might no please you to hear, there is any degree of proof available to you should you warrant it to believe that you have indeed been taken ..

I've been in a similar situation before and had my telepathic bond severed with my Companion. I lived on a vessel I had never heard of before being brought there and put before any number of horrific evidence of my worlds' absolute and utter destruction. I've died and have not only come back, but witnessed my husband doing so .. several times.
This place seems already capable of as much if not more than the last they saved me from.
[She exhales, seeming to take a moment to gather herself. She's just getting tired of being asked for proof..]
Though I question that we've been given the whole of the story, I do not doubt at least the premise that we have been taken far from our own homes and worlds and that we are alone unless friends or family find themselves 'saved'..
[Sorry, your explanation sort of derailed after 'telepathic bond'. That got his attention. The rest could be dismissed as fantasy. After all, he doesn't know this woman...]
Telepathic bond...?
[And if she's a telepath... that would conveniently explain why no one is popping up on his mental "radar". Especially since she seems to know so much about this place.]
Destruction? What happened?
I sincerely doubt kidnappers of this ability would be inclined to reveal the full extent of their plans. They prefer to keep such things close to the belt, as it were.
Too many things for you to comprehend. In regards to escape? Distressingly little.
Elsewhere? Well, why didn't you say so! Simple up and leave your chambers and you'll be somewhere else entirely. Rest assured, if that is the extent of your problems, then all is easily solved.

[A short pause, followed by softly spoken words.]
They are still bringing others in, then. So... how can the world possibly be destroyed?
[There was immense excitement in Aara's tone, whether he heard her on his end or not.]
I am Aara. I am afraid it is a bit more difficult to leave this place than you are hoping to find out.

...Did you read the letter? It says our worlds have been destroyed. I am hoping...
I am hoping that is not the case.
Charles. I am Aara.

Yes, you said as much.

You see, it's a bit imperative that I be somewhere else entirely at the moment.

No, no. You see... you misunderstand. Somewhere else, that isn't here.
