Secondary titles: Bootless Con or Derpy-Derp Con* No, I still don't agree to this name,
Lost Let me start out by saying that this con was really, really fun. This was the first trip I had ever taken without my family accompanying: thank you all for making it enjoyable. Now that that is said, let's get this report underway! But first:
Shout outs!
First off, a shout out to all the people I hung out with on this trip! You were all amazing and wonderful (and so good at sewing omg) Special shoutouts go to Jacqui, who made the coolest Austrian Succession outfit and for being an AMAZON,
to Meggie and Katy, for being adorable and for the lovely history lesson on how Fritz invented krumping in the 1700's, trufax. I am sorry for boring you with my shyness.
Also, to Aubrey, who let us invade her house despite not knowing many of us. Thank you so much! You were the best sport.
Tea: for being absolutely ridiculous (and being an awesome butler) Is that sand in your eye?
Araine: ~BOOK BUDDIES OMG.~ I mean, for cosplaying the best Lao and for being ridiculous amounts of fun.
The German Girls: I'm so sorry I already forgot your names! AUGH. But your cosplays were totally amazing that I think I was temporarily blinded by awesome. Stars. In my eyes. *__* (also, you both traveled all the way from Germany which is INTENSE.)
To the Loloradans:I hang out with you guys all the time, you alrady know that my heart overflows with love for all of you
buried under layers and layers of unmitigated hatred for each other
.
And for the people who traveled here from DA and are curious about my adventures: here's the Con!
Thursday
Outfit: Uniform Hungary
We arrive at the Con! However, our boots did not (WHAT A TWIIIST!) Met some loloradans, some californians and some germans(!); determined them to be awesome. Scouted the landscape and found many restaurants. Tasty food was had.
Friday: derp.
Outfits: Neku, Alice
Played musical badges and managed to visit the Dealer's Room and Artist's Alley. OMG, I KNEW SO MANY ARTISTS. NOOO MY MONIES. However, I managed to get six free pins on account of my Neku costume and I bought at least six more just because they had so many to choose from. HAPPY NEKU WAS HAPPY.
The rare-book dealer was there again (MY MONIES!) but I managed to escape with buying only one book on trickster folklore, so it was totally worth it. I also wore Alice on this day--Lost was easily the best of the regular Oz's. (there were two kids who did the fancy versions. So pretty. *___*) It was around this time that we really started panicking about the boots so a friend and I traveled via lightrail to find some replacements. Cool story, bro!
Saturday: DERP DERP.
Outfits: Shield Maiden Hungary
So many Hetalia cosplays! It seriously felt like we had gathered an entire world out there. Unfortunately, I don't think it was organized as well as it could have been, so it was the entire world burning under the hot sun. Yeah, I hung out with the other Hungarys under the shade. I also got an awesome picture of Shield Maiden Hungary and Austrian Succession Hungary together. (read: Jacqui and me. Her's is the cooler looking one.)
THE BOOTS CAME BACK THIS DAY YAAAAY :D
Sunday: Derpy Derp Derp.
Outfits: Neku, Civvies
The last day of the con! Lots of relaxed cosplay this day (and several last minute photoshoots) Picked lots of fake fights with my friends. Hung out at Aubrey's house and visited her park. It had a teeter-totter! An honest-to-god teeter-totter. It was SO COOL. After that, we got on the plane and headed back home. Very tired, but very pleased. <3
Last but not least:
Pictures!
