RoboCop's cruiser was really struggling to gain ground on the suspect. They were up to nearly 124mph, and the pony car he was tailing still had power to spare. He knew he needed to end this pursuit in the interest of public safety, let alone the ominous threat of the bomb that could go off whenever ( ... )

With a single spark, a chain reaction was initiated that would drastically change RoboCop's life (if you could call it that). The final rounded lead projectile tore into the Mustang's gas tank with a PLINK sound before the entire rear end of the car erupted in flame. The force of the explosion shredded the rear of the vehicle, and the unstable, gravi-nuclear device in the trunk didn't fare very well under the stresses of the explosion, let alone being launched backwards out of the car. The chemical portion of the explosive device detonated after a few seconds, with the sheer fury of a low level sonic boom ( ... )

He didn't usually suffer from the all-too-human foible of disbelieving what his eyes told him. They were the best that money could buy, after all. But it was getting harder and harder to accept what he was seeing. A spiraling tunnel of fire? Some sort of park at the end of the road? This simply didn't make sense. All the animals completely forgot about any prior obligations as they hightailed it to the far edges of central park. They were always the first to know and respond to atmospheric disturbances. In this case, the air was heavy with energy. Enough electricity flowed through the oddly humid night air to make one's hair stand on end. Within a few minutes, a small metallic sphere of God-knows-what materialized in midair, growing steadily from the size of a ping pong ball to the size of a beach ball and beyond.
