Real fur is greener and more environmentally friends than fake fur. Think about it. Fake is make from non-renewable oil that would take 500-1000 years to break down in a land fill. Real fur is a renewable resource with most modern furs coming from farmed animals and take much less energy to produce. It also naturally warmer. Leave a comment

It depends on weather the animal "should" be hunted. I mean should as in there is an ecological reason to hunt them. Deer for example has no significant natural predators on the east coast and so Deer fur is cool. Rabbit is so plentiful that 2 can theoretically make 96 bunnies a year.

Mink is a part of the weasel family. Weasels are predators (mink I believe largely eats small fish and insects). Their fur on the other hand is soft amazing, and a predator. Very rarely does it serve any ecological reason for a predator to be killed.

In all reality wool is probably the best thing to wear, fake fur as you pointed out also sucks. So why wear fur at all? There is no need.

You have a very good point but I would also like to point out that when a family of mink are scrapping at 3am and the rest of the night under our cottage on the river I am very tempted to shoot them. We have no shortage of mink or fishers up there, they are ever a pest problem. The same goes for beavers in the same area. I realize that this is a local problem.

There may be no shortage of them, but hunting them still is a detriment to the ecosystem as a whole. Beavers can do some serious damage, but they are essential for creating wetlands. But they can cause some massive damage to human places. Still in the woods its hard to justify complaints about pests when we're in their home. ;-)

If they're tasty then kill them, eat them, and wear their skins.
