Concerts/Live

After reading to aanathemaa's reply to my visual kei survey, I started wondering which concerts everyone has been to. One of the great things about LJ is just how diverse and international it is. From my own relatively boxed-in American perspective, I am somewhat taken aback by all the different sorts of people I have started to talk to. (this might more be ( Read more... )

I didn't take you to be a Guild fan....interesting.

I had a friend back in the day that really liked Lacuna Coil but other than that, I don't know any of those other bands. They sound like metal bands from their names.

I am not necessarily a Guild fan. I like them, but I cannot consider myself a fan. A fan means much more, but I am actually going to every j-rock concert in my country so I can support the j-rock industry here and maybe one day line up with Budapest and have headline bands over here too.

Yes they are metal/gothic bands. x)

I would go to any jrock band too that came to my city to support the industry. Not many bands come though, unfortunately.

You're a fan of Bob Dylan? You don't meet many jrock/Dylan fans. I bet you can tell from my list that I like a lot of older musicians. XD

How many concerts have you been to?

I adore hiiiiim! And nope to be honest, all of the people who are friends with me & jrock fans are mostly keen on jrock and not any western bands...That sucks to tell the truth, you need to stay open minded, there's not only Jrock in life.

You have great western tastes ♥ Bruce Springsteen was playing in my city in France on tuesday, I couldn't go because it was sold out ;_____;

Ah, about me, I've not been to a lot of lives because the great ones are mostly in Paris & I live in the south, most of the time I can't afford the price it could cost. But maybe next year I'll have to move to Paris for my studies, means I'll be near every amazing concert taaaahaaa ♥

My last live was 30 Seconds To Mars!

I used to be so obsessed with Bob Dylan XDDDD I think he ruined me to be honest. I used to be a stellar student, destined for an Ivy League college and all this other BS and then BAM. Dylan Happened and he changed my whole perspective. LOL

So, you live in the South of France? I've always heard of that place being the most beautiful and desired place to live. From what I understand (which is very little), all the big celebrities live there.

What are you going to go study when you leave for Paris?

Ah, you've been in some epic concerts, like U2! I so fell in love in their music a dedace-or-so ago. Tom Petty has some perfect mood-music, always reminds me of summer for some reason. I think "Learning To Fly" is my favourite.

I haven't been in many gigs, at least not ones where I really had been a fan of the artist... And well, not gonna list most of them since the acts are Finnish and I doupt they would say anything to you. I can't even remember majority of them. *laughs*

Jrock concerts:
Miyavi (2008 and 2009)
Girugamesh (2011)
Screw (Week ago~)

I would have loved to see Miyavi on 2011 too, but I couldn't because I had to work. :c 2010 was a really slow year, barely any interesting acts toured here. D'espairsRay stopped by, now I wish I had gone even if I didn't have much money at the time. -_-''

Tom Petty reminds me of the summer too! Strange~ Maybe there is something about him that is summer-like. He's from Florida and it's always warm there so that might be why. XD

You know, since you are an Alice Nine fan and you like U2 as well, I have to let you know that there first time I heard Alice Nine, I was stunned because of all the U2-esque things that are in their music. Maybe a less obsessed U2 fan wouldn't notice or care that much, but I was really really weirded out. Not because it was that they were influenced but normally, bands that are influenced by U2 sound like Coldplay but Alice Nine took from U2 that sort of exhalting feeling that one finds in U2. I don't know. I'm rambling XD But I just wanted to blab to you about it since I'm a talker.

Btw, everytime Saga of Pon mentionthem, I get all happy inside for some reason XDDDD

Summer has gotten stuck to his very being, that could be it!

Now that you mention it, I remember listening one Alice Nine song ages ago and it had something in it that reminded me of U2. I kept thinking that it's somehow familiar feeling... I think it was "Beautiful Name", it starts out with a similar theme but then turns into something that is completely Alice Nine, at least in my opinion. If you compare it to U2's "Where The Streets Have No Name", there's certainly a link there, be it unconscious one or not. Btw, I absolutely love listening both of those songs when I'm driving around in our car.
I think it's awesome they like U2! I get the same reaction too, haha.

I'm totally cool with you talking about this till your fingers go numb. xD

Yes, Beautiful Name for sure bears a strong resemblance to Where the Streets Have No Name. Something about it though makes me think it was intentional.

Oh! and I get all stupidly happy when I read a Ruki interview and he mentions some of the older bands like Dead End or something like that. XD

I hope so too! I was worried that PSC wouldn't let their bands travel overseas but when I heard that Screw was going to have a European tour I was pleasantly surprised. I hope its a sign for more things to come. ^^

To be real honest, I haven't seen ONE friggin' band live D: And I really hate it ._. I just. happen to live here. In the boring never attractive Holland and no band wants to come herrreeee.
Only the unknown one's, which I don't really like to be honest.

Omg, you're from Holland? Me too! You know, Screw just was in Amsterdam 8 June xD

And An Cafe comes too, you should save up for it then maybe I get the chance to meet you there :)

YES. I'm from Holland!
Yeah, I know AnCafe will come, but I guess I don't like them that much to spend like 33 euro's for it.
And in november I'm in the middle of my 'stage' period which is quite heavy as well so I'm afraid I won't be able to make that.

LOLOL. FINALLY SOMEONE FROM HOLLAND WHO'S INTO YAOI WHOOOHOOO.
