Expenses, Expenses

Whatever happened to the simple days when as a I kid the only thing I cared about was gathering bus fare to go to the zoo?

It seems the profession of acting is a costly one. How so you ask? Well, I am in the process of getting a new headshot. Some of you may know what that is, some of you may not. Essentially is a picture of your face. It can extend down to the waist or sometimes down to the knees depending on the photographer or what's in style.

Well at any rate, I had my first head shot back in January or February and I absolutely hated the whole experience and the product. I consider myself rather photogenic. Some people no matter how goodlooking they are, just don't photograph well.  Some people no matter how ugly, photograph rather well and naturally. There is of course a level of performing that comes with being able to take good pictures as well as a certain body awareness.(For example, Kai is terrible in front of camera no matter how goddamn adorable he is) That's a whole 'nother story so I won't go into it. All that really matters is that I hated my headshot. I was uncomfortable and the make-up artist made me look ollddddd.

So, I went to find a new photographer and I showed her my old headshot and she was like "what the..." She agreed with me that it was pretty bad. -__-  And we set up a date for a new photoshoot. I anticipate that it will go well. She was really sweet and she kept complimenting me and that of course, made me feel good. So, all is well in paradise except for the fact that I got to pull together 475 US Big Ones for them in two weeks. That means a lot of menial work and borrowing from my ever generous sister.

But nevertheless, it just reminds me that so many things are really costly >> Sometimes, it just makes me wonder why I am being such an impractical starving artist. XDD But hey, the saying you got to follow your heart, however cheesey is the best way to live. Even though amassing this money is troublesome, I can't imagine working a 9-5 I hated and no matter how many times people tell me I'd make a great lawyer, I will instead settle with being a homeless writer/actress living out of a box or in my big sis' basement.

Oh and I am not above taking a role in a 2012 remake of Baywatch if I should ever if by a slim chance get casted in it. I think running on a beach for big bucks doesn't sound too bad. LOL
