I have begun a bad habit which I said I wouldn't do and that's trying to write multiple stories at once. It wasn't exactly something I did before fanfiction. Usually back in the days when I wrote original fiction exclusively, I was so hyped up on my self-created insanity that any idea I had I nursed it to the point that the story itself probably would have been better if I wasn't so meticulous. What I mean by that is, handwriting out a story, typing it up and editing it and editing it and sitting around and thinking about it and not just sitting around, I mean like a ward patient gazing out the window while Dir en Grey played in the background, just sitting there and staring out of the window thinking, thinking and thinking. But that's neither here nor there. I was very different back then~
Well I need to keep track of these things ^^;
As of right now, there are no original fictions I have planned out in any detail. I was hoping to write something over the break, something I devised months ago but I think I was overestimating myself. Two weeks is not enough time to really get something solid down. Or is it? I think at this moment though, writing an original story will just make me even more disorganized. A lot more character design is needed, not because in fanfic the name suffices but when writing on original story, I think the author has to work harder to make the main character appeal (or not appeal) to the reader. There are so many half-assed characters out in the "real" literary world, it's almost nauseating how transparent a writer is when you read their characters, especially their main ones and all their fantasies, conceits and other childish attributes come out. It makes it hard to read a book when one can see right through them so easily >> I bet just by reading a book first 10 pages, I can identify the writer's gender, their sexual orientation, class and probably whether they would have voted for Romney or Obama. I sound like I'm bitching. I'm not. It's just... It makes me disappointed that the editor didn't come out and call the writer on their shit.
I'm digressing~
I want to make a list of the stories I have begun and need to finish and the ones I promised people.
1. Akamizu
This strange little story is interesting. I wonder how many people compared to the other stories are reading it. The prose is closer to my original fiction style which at first I liked, it was more comfortable to write but I felt like the characters are being drowned in it and they aren't really popping like they should. I like fanfiction characters to pop. But I should finish it since it's already on chapter 4 and there are sizable amount of comments.... What to do, what to do.... I wouldn't care personally if I finished it but I wonder how invested the readers are to it....
2 Fuki fiction
Fuki (Fuwa/Ruki) story I owe my beta for Christmas. I started writing this and...and....even though the dialogue is good and Fuwa is personally for me one of my absolute favorites to write, I want to scratch what I have and start over. It's what I call a "scenario" fic in which the characters aren't too different from the standard roles, Ruki is a 30 year old rock star and Fuwa is older gentleman, educated and yadda yadda and the two unlikely people meet under a strange circumstance and fall in love. Practically in Zion terms, it's how she would devise a romantic comedy. But the story itself I'm bored with. I owe her a story and even though they are few and far between, Fuwa/Ruki is actually popular with some. So...the conundrum...Should I scrap and start over? Should I finish what i have and tough it out?
3.The Aoiha fantasy epic
I posted a sample of this on my journal sometime in August or September while I was still writing Forever & Ever and I even though I'm sure most have forgotten about it. I haven't. It's going to be written generally in the same style and all the boys are going to play a role. Essentially, it's my new big fanfic that's probably going to be 300 pages+, fun, comedy, the whole works. I got a bunch of shit planned for it but the reason I haven't stared writing it...is well, I have to write those short fictions I promised others.
4. Reituki fic
This is a cute little comedy fiction that a friend requested A LONG time ago and I got an idea about it but I think in order to write this, I need to finish the Fuki one first. That or neither will get done. I wonder if people will be surprised. Zion actually advertising in a Reituki community! I never posted Miseinen or Forever & Ever or any of my other fics in those because well....none of them were actually Reituki fictions. I think some of them probably still hate me for F&E. Oh well. XD
