When I was younger, I had absolutely no interest in anything beauty related. The extent of my attempts was merely regular bathing and brushing of my hair. Only recently have I begun to wear dresses and brave the world of the high heeled shoe. Now, I am going where no little Lexi has gone before...to the beauty aisle.
As my interested in Visual Kei has grown (extensively, obsessively and probably maniacally), my interest in the art of make up and in fashion in general has increased and I have become inspired by my favorite musicians (and from others of course), to begin to dress myself so to speak, to "decorate" myself as my rather artsy ass would rather say. Now this is a bit difficult considering I am a Vegan and that just doesn't mean that I don't eat animal products. I stay away from things made from animals and are tested on animals and makeup is one of the prime culprits of animal cruelty. So to begin my journey into the art, I am collecting information on brands that are Vegan and cruelty-free. So far, I have found this rather interesting and helpful guide:
http://www.onegreenplanet.org/lifestyle/the-ultimate-vegan-makeup-guide/ and also a tumblr!!!! She has a really cool directory of cruelty-free companies.
The Vain Vegan She seems to report on all sorts of products and more affordable ones at that. ^^ When I have more time and money, I'll look into her website in more depth but from what I can tell, it's a pretty awesome resource.
Hopefully once I can get my hands on some of those products, I can start learning skills on how to appropriately apply it. :/
