There was some crash in Toronto last summer where people evacuated like that and five minutes later the plane caught on fire. So I guess it's happened.

But if it explodes you're pretty much up shit's creek.

Hmm. People in military-like uniforms screaming at me in shrill German? I'd probably crap my pants and then start running.

Anyway, it looks like the hardest part is getting people to step away from the inflatable slide after they landed, or else you get quite a pileup.
