[Movies] "But I wanted to love it!"

Are there any movies that you just wanted to love so bad but couldn't?

I wanted to love "Haunted Mansion" because that ride was so amazing. But I knew there were gonna be problems the minute Eddie Murphy was announced....

Dark City. It had all the correct ingredients for a movie that should have blown my socks off. Instead, it had a cool premise, ok acting, slightly interesting special effects, and I walked out of it at the end going "meh."

"Brain slugs?! Brain slugs from outer space?!" was what I shouted in the theater after the big reveal happened. There was much throwing of popcorn at the screen and general snarking from the audience at that point.

I'm still waiting until it comes out on DVD or something so my boy can illegally download a relatively good copy and get very very drunk and yell at the screen a lot.

And then watch Nightmares and Daydreams and Ember Island Players back to back three times.

I'm okay with Pulp Fiction, but you and me should start a "Fight Club Was Crap" club.

It was a passable plotline for one of the weaker episodes of "Twilight Zone" circa the 60s... only passable.

Could one simply say "Any movie based on a Alan Moore comic"?

Watchmen - so SAD. Malin Ackerman just RUINED IT FOR ME.

Half and half, for me. "From Hell" and "LOEG": crap. "Watchmen" and "V for Vendetta": quite liked 'em. Your mileage may (and apparently does) vary. :)

cheers,
Phil
