[Movies] "But I wanted to love it!"

Are there any movies that you just wanted to love so bad but couldn't?

I wanted to love "Haunted Mansion" because that ride was so amazing. But I knew there were gonna be problems the minute Eddie Murphy was announced....

Yes, I'm ashamed to say this:

Dungeons and Dragons.

Fuck, I'm a geek. I really wanted to love it. I walked out of that movie feeling shame for loving the game. Like people would see it, and when I told them I played it they'd automatically connect it to that undead murderous abortion.

Both. Dungeons and Dragons. D: Wrath of the Dragon King was not pleasing to sit through either.

I have absolutely no shame in saying that I wanted to love this movie. I'm just very, very sad that they made THAT movie.

I got to see it for free in the theatre and still regretted it.

Blood & Chocolate. It was one of those guilty pleasure books from back when I was 13 and I'll be the first to admit it's pretty cheesy. Then the movie came out and they just did... Horrible, unspeakable things to it. That and the Golden Compass. :-/

The latest Alice in Wonderland movie.

I walked in going, "Actors I like, an excuse for creepy CGI weirdness, and the guy who made The Nightmare Before Christmas! What's not to like?"

I walked out knowing the answer to that question.

I wanted to love the stage production of TOMMY. I loved the album. I loved the movie. I... detested the stage adaptation.
There was a vampire movie that came out at the same time as The Lost Boys, which people say is so much better than TLB. Near Dark (I looked it up before committing this entry). I can't even remember the name, or who was in it. My immediate circle of friends love it. I tried watching it (on DVD), and was left... meh. Less than "meh," I slogged through the whole thing, just to "give it a chance," and seriously, I want that 2 hours or whatever back.

X-men 3 aka Wolverine cries like a whiny little baby. Seriously, it should have been awesome, but then they were like "NO We need to throw in MORE plots, MORE references, MORE Wolverine crying at things."

Bah.
