Knit Picks

Does anyone have experience with Knit Picks brand yarns? I got their catalog in the mail yesterday, and their prices really are irresistable (3 dollars a skein for supermarino). I'm currently knitting with an Artyarns supermarino and it's amazing. Could the Knit Picks compare?

Thank you.

I've used some of the Knit Picks yarn, but none of their superwash merino yet. I bought some of the Wool of the Andes, Merino Style, Andean Treasure and Andean Silk and their alpaca laceweight. Some of the wools are rougher and the colors can be really intense (might not be a problem for you, but I'm a more subdued color choice person), but some of my friends said their merino sock yarn is really nice and soft. I don't think they were talking about the superwash merino though. It is so cheap that it is worth trying some on a whim and shipping is reasonable for small orders (if you don't qualify for the free shipping).

Also, I ordered one set of tips and cords from their Options interchangable needles and so far I love them.

Yes! Those interchangables were really really tempting. I saw a pattern in their catalog for fingerless mittens that called for the same size needles and yarn I'm working with now, both of what I'm having fun with. That's why I was asking.

Thanks so much for your imput. I'll think about giving it a try (darn lack of money!)
