My husband and I have been going through some life decisions and we've decided that we are definitively going to retire in Alaska. It's been such a crappy summer, just not a lot of good news. :( I didn't realize how little I'd posted. Time flies and all that right LOL!

Yes, I'm from Alaska but I left in 1986 in my 9th grade year because my mom moved to Nashville, TN to help my grandpa then we moved to St. Helens, OR where I went to 10th-12th, but I went home to Alaska every summer except one and for holidays here and there and I had it as my home of record when I went into the Air Force. It's always been 'home'. We'd narrowed it down to either Northern Idaho or Alaska but some other things have pushed it over till we decided to just go forward with Alaska. My aging father, my brothers, my niece, and my mom is apparently set on living where we do so if we moved to Idaho it'd all be on me again. I told my husband that really settled it. If we move to Alaska my brothers have to share in the responsibility

Oh and I did fall behind on those emails, it was right when we were going up to Alaska and we were getting out other son to his college which is in the same state but about 1 1/2 hrs away and he has an apartment this year. It was busy! I think it's awesome you're writing fic again. :)

And what is it with Alaska, lately? There's this one person on Youtube I watch who does cat videos that moved up to Alaska, and even I have this minor urge to move there, despite the fact that I hate the cold (but we'd lived there when I was around four or five, and loved it). There's all these interesting shows about living in Alaska. I guess it's just the place to be ;)

LOL -- I get irritated by all the attention Alaska gets because I've disliked what tourism did to the state. I guess it's a mixed blessing but it's been hard seeing the changes. Talkeetna is just a tourist pit stop now and I remember Dad taking us there as kids and it was just this cool small town where Dad grew up and he would stop in and say hi and chat with his old friends. Of course now most of them have passed on but to see it being ran by people with no idea about the place is rough.

I've always been reading LJ just didn't post much, seemed like all there was was negative stuffs going on. Hubby and I are ready to see 2014 leave LOL!
