Several LJ friends & acquaintances are archiving (backing up) their blogs to their own computers, as the word is going around that the Russian company that owns LJ just laid off a majority of its employees. Vacations are pointless
My last work day week before the holidays was December 18th. It's a good thing the month ended that early for me as every day I found myself cursing outloud at the n-th follow up to original requests that had only been received a few working hours earlier. Water torture and sleep deprivation, apartment style
Every 12 minutes the toilet in the hall bath refills the 1.5 inches of water it lost to some slow leak. Refilling is normal; refilling every 12 minutes is not. The water runs into the tank loudly -- very loudly -- and wakes me a couple of times a night ( Read more... ) -

I just stumbled across the announcement of her death this evening. I knew I was busy in the last couple of weeks, but for me that's not an excuse to just discover this.

Christmas shopping and the gratuitous results
