I think that that is the point of self discovery - it's only with yourself.
And once you know who you are & reconcile with your strong points & weak points, your good & bad, your likable and unlikable ... that's when you are no longer alone when you are just with you, because you've made a new friend of yourself.
Sure, you may be lonely now & then - who isn't? But self-acceptance, I've always believed, is about never being really alone.
PS for the past 25 minutes the absolute most obnoxious patient has been bitching about her cervical collar. I want to slap her.
