The more I try to figure out who I am, the more lonely I have become.

god, how morbid

sometimes you figure yourself out in respect to others
or you hear something a person says and it sounds exactly the way it is in your head and you affirm it or reject it

you don't need to do it alone
even if both you and adrian come here like i always say
and stay silent for hours
i don't care
that's what needs to be done

I think that that is the point of self discovery - it's only with yourself.

And once you know who you are & reconcile with your strong points & weak points, your good & bad, your likable and unlikable ... that's when you are no longer alone when you are just with you, because you've made a new friend of yourself.

Sure, you may be lonely now & then - who isn't? But self-acceptance, I've always believed, is about never being really alone.

PS for the past 25 minutes the absolute most obnoxious patient has been bitching about her cervical collar. I want to slap her.
