Well, I'd say "Glad it all worked out," but it really didn't because people are still stupid as hell. So, "Glad you were able to eventually achieve your original goal."

The scary thing is, when reading the entry I was thinking "I wonder if the clerks know that he didn't REALLY take her name, she still has it, he just has it too." Sort of like when kids freak out at the "I took your nose" thing. I wouldn't put anything over workers at the DPS in our state. X_X

Last year while attempting to get my ID I was told that my official birth certificate was invalid because there was a splotch near my middle name. Keep in mind this is the same birth certificate I have used for over thirty years - yes it has a splotch because the ancient copier that made a copy was a piece of crap. I was with my husband at the time who found this highly amusing and said, "Let me get this right you are threatening my wife with jail time if she says the f word?" She said she could so Bruce proceeds to say the f word over and over again. She runs and gets a state trooper who basically tells Bruce he is trespassing on private ( ... )

Wait. Since when is the DMV, a government office, open to the public, "private property"?

Yeah, they are, indeed.
It probably wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so f*ing stupid.

I'da popped em in the fuckin mouth. A man taking his wifes last name is not terribly uncommon and how it comes across to being "Kinda gay" I can't wrap my head around.

DMV is STATE Agency. Report them to Austin. Even if the locals are inbred mouth breathers, someone near the top will have a brain.
And realize the legal exposure
