Here's an example. After uploading it I noticed that it was a lot more quiet than other youtube videos. Basically it's a quest in Skyrim where you have to save this little girl from savages. Once I find this little girl some strange things happen- I think I was pretty lucky on how many weird aspects of the game are shown.
The current process I've used for this took 140 GB during editing. probably could get that number down later but it seems to be the fastest easiest way. If I have the space why not?
I used fraps to record, virtual dub to convert those videos to uncompressed avi (hence the huge HD requirement) then edited it with Adobe Premiere which only takes a few formats to function correctly and saved it as MPEG2 format which got it down to 2GB but after that I used ffmpeg with winff to reconvert to h.264 mp4 which got it down to 600megs. phew!
