For hime makeup, the mot important part are eyes. In general, you'll be needing primer, concealer, highlighter, foundation, lose or pressed powder for your face. Then comes contouring, with a darker poder, or bronzer or even shadow. I use a dark brownish blush. Also, white shadow for contouring, specially the bridge of the nose. For the lips, do the pink/nude effect with gloss and foundation. But start with some balm or chapstick to protect your lips from chafing. Then add the cream or mousse foundation for an even cover on the lips. Then, fill in some colour (light pink) ith some lipstick and finally, gloss.
For the eyes, you'll be needing shadows, highlighter (or a white pencil), fake eyelashes (top and bottom), mascara and two to three different types of liner, depending on what you wanna do with your eye shape: pencil, crayon liner, liquid liner and/or marker liner.
Ideally, you should also wear contact lenses to enlarge your pupils, but that's up to you.
For the Hime makeup Im not completely fond of it being for a otaku reason since I consider it a very serious fashion but hopefully at least so you can represent it well.
Most basic makeup: white shadow (eyebrow and inner eye corner) beige or pinkish shadow (light colors not neons) well groomed eyebrows or light eyebrows (you can use a light brown to fake it long false eyelashes contacts (if you have them) black liner (liquid first and then pencil to fill in and smooth) pink blush or possibly a orange creme color for your skin tone nudish brown to brown pink light lipstick and a little gloss.
That will give you a simple but pretty accurate hime look. Just try to apply like some of the mag tutorials.
Don't get me wrong, I love himegyaru! I take it very seriously as a fashion which is why I want to represent it well. I wanted to wear it for my performance because it's a very girly style and it would be unexpected. I also want to take this opportunity to build up a hime-esque wardrobe so that I can dress that way more often.
Thank you so much! I'll be sure to keep this all in mind!
