Dresses and Heels

Oct 20, 2009 18:20

I pretty much never wear dresses, the only time I do wear dresses is when I'm forced. I've realized while wearing dresses that I don't know how to wear them. I feel uncomfortable in them, I'm used to wearing baggy jeans hehe. Do you guys have any tips to get used to dresses and skirts? Are there any brands or names that make good dresses and casual ( Read more... )

Have you considered kitty heels? They're not too dramatic and they're really cite.

First, why are you uncomfortable in a skirt?

When I was 14, I NEVER wore skirts because I HATED my legs. They were pretty fat (still are UGH). Now, at 23, I wear skirts all the time BUT I wear stockings or leggings under them cos I still have nasty legs. XD

I hate my legs too, I think they're too fat. I also just don't like the way they look. I also feel uncomfortable in a skirt because I don't usually sit with my legs closed and I don't want to give anyone a peep show

If you are interested in learning how to sit in a more feminine way, can I suggest this: Glorify Yourself - Sitting Technique

It's an old (50's) lady-like how to pamphlet so the tone may sound a little weird and dated here and there, but it has great tips for sitting properly and looking good sat down, even with skirts. I have thick legs too, and I've found that just sitting in a more elegant and feminine way already makes your legs seem a lot prettier. :)

When you're getting heels, are you sure you're getting the right size? I had the falling off problem until I realized that I wasn't getting the right size in heels. Then, I went to a store and kept trying on heels in smaller sizes until I realized it. I thought I was an 8.5 but it turns out I needed a 7 with one heel and an 8 in the other. I have narrow feet and I guess, while having a bit of room works with sneakers and flats, heels really need to be the right size.

But if you try smaller sizes and they still aren't fitting, then probably any heel with straps around the ankle or across the front will prevent your feet from falling out.

wear short black shorts under your skirts and dresses so you dont feel paranoid about peep shows. lol

I have a cotton pair and a swimsuit pair.
