Hello, harmonies (days of future posts)

Internet was out for a day-and-a-half, when I'd intended to write something for lj/daydreamwidth; so here are several entries you might see coming up:

--High harmonies from prog and K-pop.

--Baile funk is confoundingly great.

--Yes sir [politely], I can boogie - I can boogie, boogie-woogie, all night long [as opposed to all day and all of the night].

Done already, but they're over on the Dreamwidth sidebar under More Blogs and Such (I'm not paying for space on LiveJournal, so not a lot of links on the side here).

Hope you'll get to this one. It's funny, in the last month or two as I've tried to pull in more playlists to my weekly listening I've been realizing I need to keep a completely separate playlist for 2021 baile funk because there are so many different incredible things happening in it that I basically feel overwhelmed. Sounds and timbres that don't belong in songs at all that somehow *anchor* them, verses shouted in from the back of the room that still take the spotlight, horrible noise that can somehow stay horrible even as it makes you want to dance ( ... )

(My massive ignorance around the whole scene(?) also means that any distinctions between songs -- like basic classification stuff, what you'd call this subgenre or that one, etc. -- are more or less lost on me, except for the differences I can hear, which may not mean much?)
