Nominations day is tomorrow for the Peoples Pop Polls' World Cup Of Soundtracks, the caveat being that the track has to have made it onto a soundtrack record (album, single, official playlist) and that the record has to be the track's first appearance

Background music is widely available for instrumental soundtracks of certain types of films (blockbusters and some prestige stuff starting c 1990, indie films scored by pop/rock folks like Jon Brion and Trent Reznor post-2000) but nothing really jumps out. Love the background music in "Do the Right Thing" but don't think it was ever released as part of the soundtrack.
