( prologue)

------

- 4 years after -

The cameras flash from everywhere and the lights from them are enough to blind anyone who is not used to it. With him, it was nothing. Heck, he practically grew up in front of these cameras. The whole of Japan knew him and his life. Or at least they thought they knew.

YamaPi posed for another camera and flashed a smile. He could hear the fangirls screaming in the background but he ignored them. In the past, he would've look at them and probably flash them another smile-But past is past. Doing those things right now would only be a burden. In fact, even the simple task of smiling is a big problem already-but he had to do it. His job is everything about entertaining ang bringing happiness to his fans.

YamaPi smiled bitterly at this. He wondered if he should really be doing this job when he himself souldn't even let out a real smile. It seems as if his body forgot how to it properly that the only thing it could accomodate now are all those fake smiles.

"Yamashita-san, the manager wants to talk to you. He said it's important," the staff who appeared beside him said.

YamaPi raised his brow, whenever his manager wants to talk to him like this, it would only mean disaster. He would always be rushing to his manager's office only to find out that his manager has again, arranged him a date with some girl-or even guys.

"Tell him I want to rest. I'll call him tomorrow." He replied to the staff before hopping into his convertible without another word. No way he's going to spend dinner with some stranger and pretend he's enjoying the company. Again.

---

YamaPi ignored the accusing look his manager, Ryo Nishikido, gave him the next day when he stepped into the older man's office. He had no time for lectures-worst, for another blind date.

"I told you to see me yesterday," Ryo started.

"Sorry, figured I was too tired for a blind date." YamaPi replied rather sarcastically.

Ryo threw him a surprised look. "Blind date?"

YamaPi smirked, "Playing innocent doesn't suit you, Ryo-chan."

"Believe me, last night wasn't for a date," Ryo explained. "It's good you came today though."

"Where else will I be?? So, what are you going to tell me?"

Ryo shook his head at YamaPi's behavior before handing him a brown envelope. YamaPi accepted it, his eyes looking at Ryo in confusion. Ryo sighed exasperatedly when YamaPi made no move toopen the envelope. "For heaven's sake, just open the damned envelope!"

Wondering what his manager is up to now, YamaPi finally opened the envelope and its' contents spilled out on the table before them. It took him ten seconds for his mind to finally register what he's seeing. YamaPi wasn't able to move immediately when he realized what those are. Pictures.

Those things were in no doubt, pictures. But they're not just mere pictures. YamaPi stared at the pictures before him-at the face of that man, the man who had changed so much over the past 4 years he had not seen him.

"Tegoshi da..." YamaPi muttered when he finally found his voice again. He was now holding the pictures and browsing them one after the other while still trying to recover from shock after seeing Tegoshi after all these years. "How did you get hold of this?"

Ryo shrugged, "The jimusho sent them to me, those slow bastards. They told us they'll be looking for Tegoshi-kun but it took them 4 years to do that and the only thing they could show us was these pictures!"

YamaPi barely listened as he stood up in a hurry,"I'm going to see the people at the jimusho."

---

It didn't take him 15 minutes to reach the jimusho and it's pretty amazing considering that the normal travel time for him to reach the jimusho is 20 minutes. YamaPi slammed the envelope down the table and was still huffing when he asked the man inside the room, "Where is he?"

Johnny wasn't even surprised when YamaPi stormed into his office. Smiling, he motioned for the young man to sit. "There's no need to rush, he won't disappear again."

YamaPi calculated this answer before he sat down on the chair Johnny motioned for him to sit on earlier. "I want to know everything. Tell me where he is now!"

"Are you sure you only wanted me to tell you where he is right now? Don't you want to see him?"

YamaPi growled. "Why would I ask you his whereabouts if I don't want to see him? Now can you-"

"Very well then," Johnny said before turning to look at the doorway behind YamaPi. "He said he wants to see you, Tegoshi-kun."

Saying that he was surprised was an understatement. YamaPi was frozen in his seat and couldn't even move a muscle to turn and look at the man Johnny adressed as Tegoshi. He was afraid that the old man was just playing tricks on him and he'll learn in the end that all of these are all planned to tease him.

"Yamashita-kun..."

Damn. YamaPi could never forget that voice. It seems so real and near yet he knew that his senses could only be playing at him. Slowly, he turned and was faced by that familiar boy-that familiar smile, and yet, everything still looks surreal to him.

"Yu-Tegoshi," YamaPi managed to say as he took a step towards the younger man. "Tegoshi, you're real...right?"

Tegoshi laughed at this before he ran to hug YamaPi. He has missed him... It had been 4 long years after all. Four long years and yet, the feelings he thought he had forgotten already came back to him the moment he felt his senpai returning that hug.

Still, the fact that many things have changed since he left was inevitable. As he withdrew himself from the hug, Tegoshi apologized for all the trouble he had caused to the jimusho and to YamaPi.

"Silly," YamaPi said as he ruffled Tegoshi's brown hair which had been black the time he disappeared. "I'm glad you're alive and back now."

"Are you not going to ask me what happened?" Tegoshi asked in a small voice.

"I will." Pause. "Eventually... but right now, I don't want to ruin this reunion."

Tegoshi bit hiw lower lip. "You think it would ruin this reunion?"

YamaPi sighed deeply as he remembered the pitures he saw earlier. "If my deduction skills are correct, then maybe it will."

Tegoshi remained silent for he knew YamaPi was right. No matter how close they are in the past, the four years that had passed changed them alot. They both wanted to tell the other a lot of things but something inside them was holding them back. Finally, Johnny took pity on them and broke the silence.

"Shall we tell the press now?"
