6) I hate the Vietnam war as well. It was never a declared war. It could never have been won sense our government had an unspoken agreement that we would only send a few troops in at a time. Had there truly been a reason to go, other than political, we would have sent in far more troops. But the Johnson and Nixon administrations sent Americans in with, as my grandma likes to say it, their hands tied behind their backs. This has been documented, by the way. And why do we glorify war? I understand that if we are fighting for an honorable cause, support is the right thing to give, maybe even our lives as well. But how would you feel if you were a soldier there, knowing that you could never win, watching your buddies be killed by hidden bombs, or watching booby-trapped children exploding before your eyes if someone touches them the wrong way?
